SVRRIC, Sad Eve & Akacia team up to release a creepy, wispy track with track a distorted punchy piano and breathy female vocals on ‘You’re Lying.‘ Thematically, the song is about the downward spiral of a good fairytale story, which is further heightened sonically, particularly during the song’s build up, with string instruments, of which then explodes into dark and angry emotions with a bass intensity as the song progresses.
Akacia says of the song, “The song describes a fairytale gone wrong, where the main character is shutting herself off from the world, waiting for a glimmer of hope or someone she can relate to.” Sad Eve adds, “The track is about a world gone wrong where the people you thought you could trust have changed. People have become hopeless “comparing pain killers” and “getting high.” The song is just describing a backwards fairytale, where it seems ideal, romantic and full of promise, but it’s in fact the opposite.”
