Introducing Madalen Duke and her first solo single with CloudKid, entitled ‘Talk Back’ — an unapologetic, bold, empowering, track that boasts confidence and swagger, resulting in a record that is a hybrid of hip-hop and pop, while showcasing some electronic influences as well.
Madalen says about the track, “This song is about being whoever the f*** you want — about having that confidence in yourself and where you’re going. We have all grown apart from people in our lives because we evolve, want different things and start aligning different values. I’m such a different person now than I was four, five years ago, and I know that I’ve grown and changed for myself the entire way, not for anyone else. Whether it’s a relationship or a friendship, if you don’t grow with me, you’ll get left behind in the dust. Some people are uncomfortable with that, when you yourself know who you are and where you’re headed. The lyrics, “don’t talk back” in the song mean, ‘don’t tell me what I can or cannot do,’ because I’m the one who will write my own story, my own future regardless.”

Madalen Duke is a Vancouver-based artist and songwriter. Her unique voice and empowering lyricism have resonated with fans from her hometown in Canada all the way to Asia and South America. Duke has been busy setting trends and creating a movement with her lustful vocals and honest songwriting. After opening for Post Malone and performing at SXSW twice in the last years, she released her debut EP ‘Talking To Myself‘ – with the lead single “Born Alone Die Alone” airing as the titular song on Netflix’s The Old Guard.
