CloudKid Presents Silent Child & margø - Strange

After the launch of his debut EP, Tortured Thoughts,’ and following many collaborative tracks post-EP, Silent Child returns with his newest track, ‘Strange.‘ Very personal and quite “rebellious” in nature, the song also features impressive vocals by alternative Canadian singer-songwriter margø. Once again, his cohesive, rocktronic production, relentlessly honest lyricism and strong emotional presentation is heard throughout the song, sensibilities from electronic and pop to alternative and rock making appearances throughout.

He says, “This song means a lot to me personally. It’s about being different from other people and those close to you trying to change you. But, honestly, it’s okay to be different. Sometimes our differences might seem strange to other people, but just because we aren’t the same doesn’t mean we have to be.” Accompanying Cooke is Canada-based, margø. She says, I really connected with the theme of accepting and loving the things that make you different – so I intertwined that idea with the concept of self-love. Sometimes society leads us to believe that in order to feel love, we need to receive that love from another person – whereas, I wanted my part in the song to convey the idea that it’s more than okay to be alone; we can definitely find that feeling of being complete within ourselves.”

Silent Child, real name Rodney Cooke, is a Black and Hispanic producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist from Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up with Asperger’s, he found his voice and was ultimately able to break his silence through music. Along the way, Silent Child has now been recognised — even more so after his song, ‘F*** You,’ went viral  — across leading Spotify Editorial playlists (Alternative Beats, Fresh Finds, Sludge, Creamy), receiving various uploads from all major YouTube channels (Mr.SuicideSheep. xKito, Cloudkid), as well as features from the likes of Before The Data, EDM.com and Earmilk. His personal authenticity and rich catalogue of music will be sure to have listeners jamming along and relating tenfold. In a similar fashion, margø has been marching to the beat of her own drum for a long time now, evidently shining through in her natural ability to create truly emotive songs with honest lyricism, making her the perfect accompaniment on ‘Strange.’
