CloudKid Presents Jake Daniels - Problems
Adding to his music supervillain persona, New York-based Jake Daniels shares a broody, mysterious, and “evil” track — as he describes — that will appear on his next EP on CloudKid, The Otherside. ‘Problems,’ his next single, was inspired by various dark pop artists in its assembly, including Billie Eilish and Melanie Martinez, and gives off an eclectic mix of both dark and bubbly pop, sonically and lyrically.
He says, “This song is basically about anxiety and what it can do to your mind. For some anxious people, anxiety can feel like there are several different people — or monsters, puppeteers — pulling you in different directions in every situation and calling the shots for you, even if you only feel or think that internally. It’s meant to touch on what it feels like to be a human with these real issues that affect many of us in the world and finding a solace in knowing that you’re not the only one feeling that way. The last line says it the most blatantly and effectively, // we’ve all got problems. //”
