CloudKid Presents Frizzy The Streetz & Simbai - Kids See Ghosts

Frizzy The Streetz and Simbai return for their latest collaborative track, ‘Kids See Ghosts‘ — the title having been inspired by the eponymous debut studio album by American hip-hop duo Kids See Ghosts, composed of rapper-producers Kanye West and Kid Cudi. The creepy mood of the song is accompanied by a just as menacing narrative, revolving around the antics of a person who is playing dumb, acting impressionable, and trying to make it seem to another person that they have no idea what’s going on between them — yet know exactly what is.

Frizzy writes, “In Jamaica, we have a proverb that says ‘play fool fi ketch wise,‘ meaning to feign ignorance for one’s own benefit. In the case of the song, we wrote it with a similar intention, where someone was in the wrong, but acted as if they had no idea about it. The ‘kids see ghosts‘ line was inspired by the album “Kids See Ghosts” that Kanye West and Kid Cudi released in 2018. One day I was freestyling and the line “kids see ghosts all the time” came out and I was like okay, I need to make this into a full song [with Simbai].”

»It has a creepy mood, almost as if it were part of a villain's soundtrack in a movie. «
