CloudKid Presents Society of Villains - Freaks

On their latest single, ‘Freaks,’ Society of Villains deliver a dark and danceable anthem. With gritty guitars, eerie sound design, and whispering verses that build into soaring, chant-worthy choruses, the track is a hypnotic blend of grit and groove. Both climactic and wickedly fun, this song invites listeners on a thrilling ride that will remind them exactly who they are.

Sam Tinnesz, vocalist of the band, says of the song, “This song is an anthem for the outsiders. The ones who don’t seem to fit into social norms and don’t have a care in the world that they don’t. The song propels listeners to choose the path of a renegade, a disrupter, someone who writes their own rules in an effort to achieve their goals. Freaks find their power in being individuals and not following the flock. Long live them.”

»...this is an anthem for the outsiders.«

Founded in 2023 from merciless treachery, Society of Villains was spawned. With a hunger for revenge swimming through their veins, these self-professed villains bred their collective musical tastes into a dark alt-rock infused evil brew. The super insidious group is made up of viral artist Sam Tinnesz and the multi-platinum producers Ian Brendon Scott and Mark Jackson. Their first EP dripped with villainous anthems that undoubtedly stirred up skeletons in the closet, while also offering any inductee into their society, an outlet for fiery, fiendish energy. The mix of Ian and Mark’s riotous production with Sam’s sinister vocals was enough to wake the dead of any era. And it did — the band having climbed onto the US Rock Charts with lead single ‘Smoke & Trouble,’ reaching 21* on the SMR Chart and Top 30* Activator Rock Chart. Their US radio debut impact can be summed up by Andy Herrin from 102.0 The Buz (WBUZ/Nashville), “Nothing gets me more stoked than seeing a supergroup come out of nowhere, especially when that supergroup turns out to be rad and has a sound all their own. All three members are music industry veterans and have their own careers, which is what makes Society Of Villains even more unique and special.” On top of their success at radio, the songs have also reaped success across all major DSPs within the first six months of release, garnering 9.5 million streams collectively since earlier this year.
