CloudKid Presents TRAILS - DIAMOND MIND EP
The debut of TRAILS’ new EP, DIAMOND MIND, with CloudKid is finally here! On his last few releases, including ‘SHAKE‘ and ‘DISINTER MY HEART,’ the Germany-based artist focused on ‘break out of your shell’ type sounds that slowly built up more and more with each chorus. On the focus track of the EP, ‘SNAKE,’ TRAILS reminds listeners that being an artist sometimes means finally breaking out of that shell, when the solitude of being a musician and working all day ‘n night becomes too ostracising and mainly rooted in perfectionism. Inspired by artists like Linkin Park, Wage War and Sub Urban on this track, TRAILS caters to various sounds on this last track — as per usual — with rap and beats mixing in with a rock/metal vibe. Instrumentally, the drums are acoustic, but according to him, “they don’t feel real, whereas the guitars are imitated by weird synths, the vocals lacking expression,” and yet it all comes together cohesively to round out a promising first EP for the newcomer.

TRAILS is by no means a new artist, considering he’s been delivering forward-thinking remixes and original tracks since 2015, accumulating tens of millions of streams and a wide array of critical acclaim along the way. For a little while now, TRAILS has been locked in the studio crafting a fresh body of work that he wrote, produced, and performed on his own, which is now finally out on CloudKid! Inspired by uniquely, different artists such as Bring Me The Horizon, PVRIS, and BROCKHAMPTON, Sub Urban, Linkin Park and more, listeners will be keen to hear what he has up his sleeve for his next round of singles. In the meantime, his first larger form body of work, his ‘DIAMOND MIND‘ EP is now out and available for everyone’s listening pleasure, via CloudKid!
