CloudKid Presents Diana Goldberg - ASK FOR IT
After the explosive release of her debut EP with CloudKid, ‘BLOSSOM IN THE DARK,’ Diana Goldberg returns with her next single. A bold, empowering, sassy track with a whole lot of attitude and fierceness that comments on one’s own ego and the idea of not wanting to admit asking for something that is desired from another person, she shares ‘ASK FOR IT.’
Diana says, “The song is about ego and not wanting to ask for something you actually really want – whether it’s mentally or sexually from your crush. As if you would never be the one to make the first move. Lyrically, it explains you’d rather ‘crash my car before I beg for it.‘ It’s about realising the toxic traits about yourself and even warning the other person: ‘maybe, better to replace me‘ even though you’re already in a toxic spiral. And no matter how much you overthink, your ego won’t make you ask for what you really want even knowing it’s a bad habit, but you can’t seem to change it; plus, you’d still do it again and again. It’s essentially about an internal battle with oneself over someone else.”

With her music, artist, singer-songwriter and aspiring producer Diana Goldberg has already cracked the 6 million stream mark and played over 40 shows in 2022, including at the Expo in Dubai, Reeperbahn Festival, SuperBloom Festival, supporting JC Stewart in Munich and also opening for Alice Merton during two of her shows for her Germany dates. More recently, she played her first ever headline show in Berlin. Since the start of her artist career, Diana has accomplished many milestones after said debut in 2020, demonstrating with every song that not only does she have musical talent, but a knack for catchy hooks, detailed songwriting and honest, direct lyrics. Her music is an alternative and dark pop sound with a melancholic mood that breaks through the walls of the taboo topics revolving around mental health, while also exercising social criticism. Among other things, the music deals with personal experiences around romantic relationships, abuses of power, societal sexism, as well as the urge for perfectionism and the self-destruction that comes with it. Even if the topics are not easy to deal with, her music has an empowering effect, which is evident given that she’s landed placements on renowned playlists on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer and Tidal, as well as on German radio stations — having been on rotation on Bayern 3, FluxFM, BR PULS, egoFM and M94.5, among others.
