Dave Schlafman is an Emmy-nominated animation producer, as well as an award-winning animation director, and children's book illustrator. Dave has worked in children's media for clients such as Penguin Publishing, Hasbro Toys, Parker Brothers, UNICEF, PBS Kids, WGBH, as well as American Greetings. In 2008, Al Gore used Dave's Award-winning PSA, The Sky is Falling, at the TED Conference during his global warming presentation. Dave also served as the Assistant Director on the first season of Wordgirl, and has directed numerous animated segments for the Emmy Award-Winning, Between the Lions, including the upcoming fully animated episodes. Dave is the Co-Creator and Executive Producer of PBS Kids' Fizzy's Lunch Lab.

Matt Moore is an award-winning designer and interactive engineer specializing in connected and new media for children. Matt worked as a Senior Designer at the Disney Online Studios where he focused primarily on user interface design on high-profile projects such as MickeyMouse.com, Disney.com, and the World Of Cars Online. While at Disney, Matt created an innovative suite of tools for artists and engineers, co-created a Flash-3D pipeline, and was the recipient of the Disney Inventor Award. Matt is the Web Director of the PBS KIDS' Fizzy's Lunch Lab.

Animation Director

Mike Annear is an Animation Director who specializes in flash animation, storyboarding, and character design. He has over 8 years of animation production experience working for clients such as Cartoon Network, PBS, Hasbro Toys, and Discovery Kids.

Prior to CloudKid, Mike worked at Soup2Nuts where he was the Animation Supervisor on the Emmy award-winning children's series, WordGirl. He also served as a storyboard artist, animator, and designer on several national television programs such as Home Movies, Between the Lions, and Time Warp Trio. Mike is currently Animation Director of PBS Kids' Fizzy's Lunch Lab.

Jen Blicharz Portrait

Art Director

Jenny Blicharz began art directing at the age of five, when she directed a magic marker at a pair of her dad's postal uniform pants and covered them in scribbles. She has since refined her artistic arsenal to include background, character, and concept design. Jenny is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art, with a major in Illustration and a concentration in Animation. Prior to CloudKid, Jenny worked on the first six seasons of PBS's Emmy award-winning show, WordGirl, serving as assistant art director. Her freelance work has included ad design, illustration, invitation and stationery design. Jenny's organizational prowess, experience in management and keen eye for detail make her the peanut butter to CloudKid's jelly.

Allison Gevarter Portrait

Interactive Producer

Allison Gevarter recently graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) with her Ed. M. in Technology, Innovation and Education. While attending this program, she focused her studies on the production of interactive kids’ media, holding graduate internships at Scholastic’s Tom Snyder Productions and WGBH’s Interactive Kids Group. While an undergraduate, Allison got her start in children’s media as an intern and then a production assistant on Sesame Street. She also worked on Disney’s Johnny and the Sprites, in Nickelodeon Digital Networks’ Research Department and at the BBC’s preschool channel, CBeebies. After graduating with her B.F.A. in Film and Television Production from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Allison lived in Los Angeles for a couple of years where she worked in television development and production at Seesaw Studios and MCfilmworks prior to attending HGSE.

Kendra Mattozzi is a production dynamo who effortlessly combines her creative and organization skills to help productions run more smoothly and efficiently. Kendra is a graduate from Massachusetts College of Art with a concentration in Animation and New Media. Kendra has produced gallery and independent animation shows, as well as her own film projects. Kendra also brings a strong knowledge of design and typography, illustration, and storytelling to the CloudKid team. Kendra was the Production Assistant for the 1st season of Fizzy’s Lunch Lab, and is currently the Interactive Producer for Season 3.

Kim Hui is a Swiss Army knife of digital skills, ranging from storyboarding to animation design to game concepting and design. She graduated from the Art Institute of Boston with a concentration in Animation and produced several shorts films in a wide range of digital mediums, including 3D and Flash animation. Kim is also an avid gamer and has designed and created games for the iPhone and Flash platforms. Kim was the lead concept designer for the 2nd season of Fizzy’s Lunch Lab, and has mastered every song in every Rock Band game. Ever.

Andrew Start is a programmer who loves to stay busy. Andrew is a graduate from Champlain College where he majored in Electronic Game Programming. There at Champlain he whetted his teeth on a variety of student projects. At Cloudkid, he now looks forward to defeating challenging tasks while making awesome games.

Tim is an animation aficionado, nerd, and enthusiast. Having graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art + Design with a BFA and departmental honors in Animation, he now brings his skill-set to the CloudKid table--which includes digital and traditional animation and drawing, as well as a profusion of software know-how. When he's not animating or sleeping, he's destroying an enormous box of cookies.

Interactive Programmer

Eric has a passion for games, puzzles, and interactive media. A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art with a focus on digital multimedia, Eric is a jack of all digital media trades who has come to CloudKid to work on programming for interactive projects. With experience in graphic design, web development, animation, audio and video production, he takes on whatever tasks need to get done. Eric is working on the latest big game from Fizzy's LunchLab, coming this Fall.

Heather Mendonca is a intern here at Cloudkid where she continually shows her love and passion of design. Heather is a graduate of North Andover High School where she was the recipient of her graduating class art award. She’s currently a Junior at Massachusetts College of Art and Design majoring in Graphic Design with a huge interest in digital illustration. When she’s not designing, she can be found looking up videos of toucans, in deep concentration in her newest video game, or eating sushi.

Joe Boyle Portrait

Concept Artist

Joe Boyle is a creative chameleon, shifting from storyboards to animation to design and back, blending into his environment to confuse predators. He graduated with a degree in illustration from the Art Institute of Boston, and later expanded his repertoire at Lorenzo de'Medici in Florence, where he studied animation and design.

Before CloudKid, Joe was the storyboard supervisor on the Emmy award-winning PBS series WordGirl. Other past clients include Staples, Constant Contact, and the Boston Public Health Commission. He can be found scouring the world (i.e. internet) for inspiration (i.e. kitten videos).
